The project for the Beltsville Research Facility’s (BRF) Vivarium will include the renovation and addition of approximately 3,000 SF to the existing 10,000 SF one story research facility to provide a new Vivarium and renovated laboratories for the Food and Drug Administration. Leuterio Thomas provided design intent drawings and a cost estimate for the core imaging laboratory facility renovation at the Beltsville Research Facility (BRF). This was a full service project including architectural, laboratory planning, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing and fire life safety. Also, the goal of the Study was to accommodate the requirements for the CVM animal areas (Procedure Rooms / CT X-Ray and Holding Pens) and the CDRH Labs and offices for occupancy by people. Additionally, the program required that we provide the support spaces for the X-Ray and handling of materials.
