Type:
Renovation, Windows/Doors Replacement
The Thurgood Marshall Prince George’s County Public School building is 120,942sf and was constructed in 1962. The scope of this project was to install fire rated corridor doors, replace all the existing windows with modern insulated double pane systems, clean & recoat the corroding steel, and replace all the exterior storefront doors. The new casement, storefront, and curtainwall window designs modernized the look of the building without significant renovation, improved the thermal efficiency of the classrooms, protected the steel from the elements, and improved safety with fire separation in the corridors. Leuterio Thomas provided full design, cost estimate, permitting, bidding, and construction admin services on this project for PGCPS.
